Gorillaz Ditch Tour to Play Video Games

The cartoon group Gorillaz will be ditching their world tour plans, because the cost of concert animation is too expensive. As an example, their latest performance at the Grammy Awards cost approximately $1.5 million to produce.

Gorillaz artist Jamie Hewlett comments:

"We're just not gonna be able to do a proper tour. We've tried really hard to work out a way but the costs would be just astronomical."

Instead of a world tour, you can visit with the rock primates via cell phone.

The Gorillaz have created a mobile game, entitled Gorillaz Entertainment System, to be available for phones in April 2006

The game, created by Jamie Hewlett and his studio design team at Zombie Flesh Eaters, features four mini-games that star each member of the Gorillaz.
