Artists Speak Out

New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom will be ringing to the music of the “Bring ‘Em Home Now” concert on March 20. The concert will feature a bevy of talented acts like R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe, Rufus Wainwright, and Chuck D.

“Bring ‘Em Home Now” was designed to bring attention to the third anniversary of the U.S. Invasion of Iraq. The musical acts have taken it into their own hands to speak out against the prolonged occupation of U.S. troops in the Middle East.

Fischerspooner’s Casey Spooner comments:

"It is impossible not to react to the current state of affairs through personal action and artistic production," Fischerspooner's Casey Spooner says. "We have been at war for three years. One desperately feels the need for someone to speak some sort of truth, either poetic or factual."

Proceeds from the concert will go to the Iraq Veterans Against the War and Veterans for Peace.

Other artists confirmed for the event:
Fischerspooner
Bright Eyes
Devendra Banhart
Peaches
